Teacher: Barb Williams who teaches at Longfellow Elementary in Wheaton, IL. Barb Williams can be contacted at zebedeee7@hotmail.com.
Name of Best Practice: I Spy Physical Fun
Rationale/Purpose of Event: To encourage others to participate in physical activity by highlighting students participating in physical activities over the summer.
Suggested Grade Level: 2-5
Materials Needed: Camera, Bulletin Board
Throughout the summer I carry my camera in my car and pocket while I ride my bike around town. While out and about, I always seem to see one of my students riding a bike, playing baseball, jumping rope, playing tennis, etc. I take a picture of them in the act of physical activity and put it on the bulletin board that states "I Spy Physical Fun Over the Summer". I even can catch a few teachers out for a walk or a swim too.
