Grade Earned Description

Thumbs Up
  • Student's feet are in stride position, feet shoulder width apart.

  • Ball is held low and not tossed in the air for serve.
  • Weight is transferred during serve.
  • Ball goes over the net everytime.

Thumbs diagonal up
  • Student's feet are in stride position, feet shoulder width apart.
  • Ball is held low and not tossed in the air for serve.
  • Weight is transferred during serve.
  • Ball goes over the net 4 out of 5 serves.

Thumbs directly sideways
  • Student's feet are in stride position, feet shoulder width apart.

  • Ball is held low and not tossed in the air for serve.
  • Weight is transferred during serve.
  • Ball goes over the net 3 of 5 serves.

Thumbs diagonal down
  • Student's feet are in stride position, feet shoulder width apart.
  • Ball is held low and IS tossed in the air for serve.
  • Weight is not transferred during serve.
  • Ball goes over the net 2 of 5 serves.

Thumbs down
  • Student's feet are not in stride position, feet shoulder width apart.
  • Ball is held low and is tossed in the air for serve.
  • Weight is not transferred during serve.
  • Ball does not go over the net more than one serve.
