Title of Bulletin Board: Twas the School Before Christmas

Materials: Holiday die cut frames, pictures of students, bulletin board border

Description:

This is a fun way to remind students of the importance of physical activity. It also gives students and vistitors an opportunity to see a variety of activities we do in physical education.

I used the outsides of holiday die cuts that another teacher had created as frames for pictures of my students participating in skill and fitness activities.

Here is the poem:
'Twas the school before Christmas, when all through the gym
Every student was stirring; every her, every him.
The jump ropes were swung by the students with care,
In hopes that fitness soon would be there;

The children were moving and their faces turned red,
While visions of wellness danced in their heads;
And the kids all in sneakers, and none in a cap,
Decided to skip their long winter's nap.

They learned some new skills and played many games.
They cooperated and were never the same.
With goals of skilled movement and strong, healthy hearts.
Physical activity is essential and smart.
