Description:

With the Winter Olympics just around the corner, I want my students to become familiar with the winter games. Being a school in the south my students see that most of the participants come from the northern states where the weather is colder. I also take the time to look at various events that students here may not be familiar with at all. I use paper plates to do speed skating and scooter boards to bob sledding. I use newspaper articles during the period to highlight athletes as well.
