Title of Bulletin Board: I Spy a Sport

Category: Sports

Suggested Grade Level: 3-12

Materials: Catalog photos, construction paper, tissue paper, computer/printer

Description:

When discarding out of date catalogs and magazines, I recycled photos of sports equipment/facilities and used them to create a bulletin board. This board challenges students to look closely at a partial photo and try to identify the sport it represents. This encourages students to use critical thinking and observation skills.

I used tissue paper for the background and mounted each photo on construction paper of a contrasting color. I used the computer to print out the title and other wording for the board.

Additional Information:

I included an extra incentive in that students who correctly identify the sports and turn in their list receive a reward (this could be anything from a sticker or pencil for elementary students to a Free Dress Out Pass for Middle or High school students).

You can use photos from any sporting goods catalogs/magazines - these were from old "Athletic Business" magazines.

This is so cool! How did you capture the images or where can I find these posters?
