Title of Bulletin Board: Literacy in PE

Materials: clip art, contruction paper

Description:

This chalk board highlights some nouns that are in PE. I wrote "Nouns, person, place, or thing." Then I used clip art to find some pictures of nouns and wrote the word beside it. I even used a picture of myself for an example of a proper noun. I briefly went over it with the students. Occasionally, you could ask a student if an item is a noun. "Is a soccer ball a noun or verb?"

Great idea! I have started a PE Word Wall in my gym (k-2). I usually try to add a word each week (words like balance, leap, beam, deck ring, gallop, body parts, etc). We often use our word wall as a cool down before students head back to class. Students like to demonstrate movement words or show me that they know their body parts.
