Title of Bulletin Board: Pedometer Step Point Board

Category: Pedometers

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Construction Paper, Tape, Chalk, Little People Cut Outs

Description:

The step point board was constructed to help us measure and identify how many steps each student has taken in our pedometer unit. This goes with our Halloween Rewards board. Each number on the board represents ten thousand steps and the color pieces represent five thousand steps. It goes 10,000 to 15,000 to 20,000 ect. Each student has a person cut out to represent themselves and can see visually how they are doing compared to the rest of the class. This also serves as a good visual reminder to the students to keep walking because they can see how they are doing. It works great for our class; the students take pride in moving their person cut out up in the ranks for steps walked. Then the first person to reach 150,000 will get to pick a prize off the Halloween Rewards Board.
