Description:

This bulletin board was designed to inform students what to expect on Survivor Day 2009 (more commonly called Field Day). At South Grove Survivor Day, each class (tribe) works together on a variety of field events, aiming to earn the "Survivor Points" at each event, ultimately leading to the Surviving Tribe. The Surviving Tribe (winner) from each grade is then awarded the Traveling torch. Their Tribe Leader's Name (teacher) and school year is put on the torch. That winning teacher retains the torch for the next school year, where the new class tries to defend the torch for their teacher.

Leading up to Survivor Day, students participate in 5 Challenge weeks. Each challenge is designed for the Tribe to become unique. They are given a tribe color, then they are to create a 1. tribe name, 2. tribe chant, 3. tribe dance, 4. tribe flag, and 5. tribe leader's accessory (necklace, head piece, etc.). Each tribe was incredibly unique and they took pride at Survivor Day by singing and dancing their chant at each event.

At the end of the day, Surviving Tribe or not, everyone enjoys Survivor Day!
