PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Earth Day

Category: Holiday-Earth Day

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Cut out letters, Paper, Printer, Pictures of the Earth and Earth Day Logos

Description:

This bulletin board I posted to alert my classes that Earth Day was coming up and how they could help preserve the earth. I included information about how Earth Day was started, the date of Earth Day and a variety of ways to save energy, water, etc. The students really enjoyed this bulletin board. Since it is outside of the gymnasium everyone in the school was able to read it and hopefully learn something from it.

Additional Information:

Here is the information that I included on this bulletin board:

-Recycle paper, bottles, cans, plastic and cardboard
-Donít litter- make sure you put garbage in itís place
-Turn off lights when you are not in a room
-Turn off the water when brushing your teeth
-Plant a tree
-Donít waste paper
-Use reusable containers and products-
cloth napkins, aluminum water bottles, a reusable lunch bag, etc.
-Bring your own bags to the store
-Donate your old toys and clothes to those that need them instead of throwing them away
-Earth Day was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson and the first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970
