Title of Bulletin Board: Reaching New Heights in Physical Education

Category: Adventure Education

Suggested Grade Level: 6-8

Materials: Photos of students climbing, construction paper, bulletin board paper, printed words, scissors

Description:

This bulletin board was constructed to recognize the students' hard work in meeting the challenges of the various vertical climbing elements and to remind them of key character education traits that were worked on during the Adventure Unit. Students loved this bulletin board because many of them accomplished things they never thought they could over the course of the unit.

I took pictures of students climbing the various vertical climbing elements. I printed them on regular paper and cut them out in varying shapes(I especially like the up and down arrows, but I didn't want to overdo them.) I printed the words, "Community," "Fun," "Challenge," "Teamwork," and the climbing communication phrase, "On belay...belay on...climbing...climb on..." in various fonts and cut them out. I cut out the Title of the bulletin board in all caps using construction paper. Finally, I arranged everything in a collage format with the title in the center of the board.

Additional Information:

Be sure to get permission to photograph your students before creating this bulletin board!

This bulletin board is behind plexiglass to ensure no one could harm the pictures.
