Title of Bulletin Board: Eat This, Not That Category: Nutrition Suggested Grade Level: K-8 Materials: Blue Butcher paper, assorted punch out letters, food models from the National Dairy Council or other food models Description: During the month of March our school celebrates the birthday of Dr. Suess. Each classroom decorates their door around the theme of their favorite book. We are learning about the food pyramid and healthy eating in P.E. so the book "Eat This, Not That for Kids" by David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding came to mind. Cover the area in blue butcher paper (like the book), add the words, Eat This, Not That For Kids with arrows pointing to the good choices, and the poor choices. The food models are from the National Dairy Council's $20 in free materials. Another idea might be to have the children draw or color healthy and poor food choices to put up instead of the food models. Add the authors name and enjoy!
