Title of Bulletin Board: Winter Wellness

Materials: Construction paper, paper plates, ribbon, white copy paper, curly ribbon, cinnamon candies, sticks from outside

Description:

Snowflakes were cute from white copy paper using the fan method to give them dimension. Letters (WINTER WELLNESS) were die-cut from light blue construction and glued to the snowflakes. Mittens were cut from bright colors of construction. Wellness tips were printed out on white copy paper and cut to fit mittens. Snowman was made from different size paper plates, hat was cut from black construction paper and bow made from curly ribbon. Eyes, nose and mouth were cut from construction paper. Cinnamon candies were used for buttons. Sticks from the yard were used for arms.

Wellness tips were: Wear appropriate warm clothing, wash hands using soap and water while singing Happy Birthday twice, cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, eat nutritious meals every day, drink plenty of water, get good exercise each day.

Because we live in the South and don't frequently have extremely cold weather for a prolonged period of time, many children don't think about protecting themselves. As a school nurse, I hope this will serve as a fun reminder to take care of themselves.
