Description:

The purpose behind the board was to help students with their understanding of fractions by movement. It is good to put this up before a dance unit because many dances do 1/4 turns or 1/2 turns. I also use it with toss and catching. I tell them to look at the bulletin board and pick a turn they would like to try when they throw the ball in the air. The students really got into it. It would also be good for teaching jumping. "Jump and do a 3/4 turn." You will find that you use fractions a lot more than you realize.

To make the poster board, I took a bowl and traced it for my cirle. Then I used the ruler to divide the circles into quarters. I used constructin paper to make the arrows going around the circles.
