PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Gobble Up some Physical Education (Thanksgiving)

Category: Holiday-Thanksgiving

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: Leaf border, black bulletin board paper, bug turkey cut out, sports scrapbook paper to create sports feathers for the turkeys, template of turkey head, template for writing sample

Description:

This bulletin board is a Thanksgiving inspired board, with a literacy theme too. I decided to keep the theme of sports, PE, and thanksgiving all together. I covered the bulletin board with black backing paper, put up leaf borders and then started to create my sports turkeys. To create the sports turkeys, you have to cut out the turkey feathers, using the sports scrapbook paper and attach the sports feathers to the template of the turkey heead. Lastly, I created a writing template for studnets to use titled "What I goobled up in PE" and had them wirte about a favorite thing they did in PE. In the middle of the board, I have a big kid friendly turkey in the middle and in the belly of the turkey reads "Gobble up some Physical Education". Being that our school is pushing "wriitng", this was a perfect way for students to write about events in PE.
