Title of Bulletin Board: Locomotor Movement Cues

Materials: Different colored paper, letter cut outs, lamination machine

Description:

This bulletin board was used during my elementary student teaching experience. I decided to create a wall display of the cues for each locomotor movement as a reminder for the students. I listed each movement and the teaching cues I had been using and displayed it on the gym wall. I noticed that if a student forget or was confused about how to correctly perform a movement he/she would go over the board and read the cues. It was very rewarding and was used as a teaching tool by the students!

Additional Information:

When showing the students the cues, I simply said if you come into class one day and cannot remember how to skip, all you have to do is come over to the wall and it tells you that a skip is a step and a hop. I incorporated the bulletin board in a positive manner and let the students know that it is there to help them. I would recommend displaying the cues on the first day of the unit!
