Title of Bulletin Board: Jolly Volley Christmas Category: Holiday-Christmas/Winter Suggested Grade Level: k-5 Materials: Construction paper (color) Description: The song, "Have a holly, jolly Christmas," is familiar to many students during the Holiday season. I chose to construct this bulletin board because we are in the midst of our volleyball unit and students are familiar with the characters of a snowman, gingerbread man (girl), and a reindeer. It also incorporates a rhyming word into our title (literacy conversation). The gingerbread girl is in an overhand serving stance and the reindeer is displaying a forearm pass. You could ask the students to fill out a slip with the volleying cues for the forearm pass or the serve and put them in an envelope on the board. Collect them and see if they are understanding the cues cognitively.
