Description:

This bulletin board was made to entice students to begin reading about their favorite sport stars and legends, their favorite sports, and to learn about new and exciting activities happening all around the world. The bulletin board uses real scanned book covers from the library so that the students can actually go and check out that book and begin exploring the sport section. Because integration is a huge topic in the special areas, combining language arts and physical education helps students become better readers in and out of the classroom. I used many different types of sport literature to display on the board....(A sports illustrated for kids, a few fictional stories, and a few non-fictional books as well to grab everyone's attention)

Additional Information:

I am thinking about implementing a book report system in which students read a sport book from the library and summarize it in a small paragraph for a reward. If the students reach a certain class goal, the reward can be that they will have a choice of activity for the day.
