The students will be encouraged to participate in our October Family Fitness initiative. During the month of October the students will be working to develop a healthier lifestyle with their families.

In physical education, the students are encouraged to create healthy habits and promote lifetime fitness activities. Students are invited to participate in the P.A.C.E. Challenge with their families, “Parents and Children Exercising.” Whether the students go walking, biking, jogging or do outside chores (raking leaves), they are encouraged to work together with their parents and make it a family event. Students who participate in 10 or more hours of physical activity with an adult throughout October will receive a personalized certificate! The goal of the challenge is to promote family fitness throughout the community and help to develop a more healthy and active lifestyle at home.

The bulletin board should give students a few ideas or activities that they can do at home with their families. It should also get them excited about “fall fitness.” Students will learn the importance of physical activity, have fun being active with their families and to cooperate and work together. The students are also encouraged to get involved with community activities.

The PACE= Parents and Children Exercising is a challenge for the month of october. The students fill out their activity log with their parents and when they have logged at least 10 hours, they hand it in to get a special prize.
