Title of Bulletin Board: Winter Wellness Snowman Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.) Suggested Grade Level: 3-5 Materials: paper plates for snowman, construction paper for snowman and snowflakes, and bulletin board paper/border Description: This bulletin board was created to provide my students a fun daily visual way to remember how to stay healthy during colder Alabama months. The snowman's body, which resemble different "snowballs", are simple paper plates turned upside down. The winter wellness part of the board offers the students different tips on how to stay healthy during the winter time when germs and sickness ramp up for elementary schools. The kids love the board and get a kick out of what the "snowcoach" is saying....PE IS SNOOOOOOW MUCH FUN!!! This bulletin board is seen leaving and entering the gym so the kids can see it easily every day when they line up. The gloves on the board have the actual wellness tips written on them. You can come up with whatever you like, but I chose the following: get 60 minutes of exercise a day, get plenty of sleep...8 hours will do, drink plenty of fluid/water, wear warm clothing and don't forget your jacket, drink your milk, wash your hands regularly, cover your mouth when you cough/sneeze, and eat your vegetables/fruit which contains important vitamins.
