PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Play With Caution

Category: Playgrounds

Suggested Grade Level: K-2

Materials: Die-cuts, colored pieces of paper

Description:

Since we don’t have room for bulletin boards in our school, posters are a great way to share information. One of my students created a playground safety poster using bright colored poster board and die-cuts. For each of the four safety concepts on the poster, there are multiple modes to demonstrate each concept.
1. Green and red check marks to show safe and unsafe practices
2. Pictures of the safe and unsafe practices
3. Words to describe the safe and unsafe practices
By using the three forms of communication to demonstrate a safety concept, students can better internalize the information.
