PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Winter Fitness

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: white felt, fabric, pictures of winter activities, fitness questions typed out with answers. stapler or tacks

Description:

This bulletin board was created with a couple objectives in mind. One aspect of the bulletin board was to show kids how to be active in the winter time. We want them to go outside and play and be active all year round, not just when it's warm and sunny outside! So we printed pictures from the computer of snow-people, sledding, hiking, skiing/snowboarding etc...
The second objective allowed us to creat a hands-on bulletin board where the passersby could read the questions at the top, think about an answer then compare it to the answers hiding on the corresponding cards in the snow. You can substitute the questions to target any lesson you want. We also cut fabric to make a scarf and mittens to embellish the board.

Additional Information:

Creativity is important with the snow felt: It was rather difficult to get the materials to stay on without the pictures warping.

The kids, teachers and principal LOVED the board and the interactive aspect!
