PEC: Bulletin Boards for Physical Education

Title of Bulletin Board: Physical Activity is Key to Unlocking the Treasure

Category: Physical Activities

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: gold coins, necklaces, tresure chest cut out and keys

Description:

Our theme this year was "Finding the key to unlock the treasure in you!" I always try to make a board that fits the theme. I decided on "Physical Activity is KEY to Unlocking the treasure in You!" Then with the students we talk about how important physical activity is to perform your best in everything. Along with physical activity, the other keys included plenty of rest, good nutrition, the components of health-related fitness,s and skill-related fitness. We also talked about how the other factors play a role in doing your best or "unlocking your treasure." I used a die cut treasure chest to save time, but you could certainly make your own. The physical activity key is bigger than the rest and looks like it is opening the treasure chest. The border really draws attention to the treasure theme. I used hot glue to glue plastic coins and beaded necklaces (treasure) to a yellow border. The kids just loved the coins and beads.

You could also include character traits and/or future occupations that require physical activity.
