Title of Bulletin Board: Falling Into Fitness

Category: Seasons (Fall, Spring, etc.)

Suggested Grade Level: All

Materials: bulletin board paper, die cut leaves, die cut letters, glitter, posterboard, construction paper

Description:

We have a bulletin board that is next to the office. It is seen when students and parents enter into the building. The area is also used for inside Physical Education when we have inclement weather. We use the board not only for decorative purposes, but also for informational purposes. For the month of Ocotber, we decided to use "Falling Into Fitness". On some of the leaves we wrote activities that our students, teachers and parents could do to help improve their overall fitness; from simple things like helping pick up things around the house, raking the yard, jogging, walking, riding bicycle, skateboarding, etc. The leaves were falling into the basket that was made from posterboard and different colored brown construction paper in a basketweave pattern. The 3-dimensional tree was made from brown bulletin board paper that was twisted and pieced together to make the limbs. The tree was also attached to the ceiling with straight pins. The letters and leaves were made using a die cut machine, and red glitter gave the leaves some sparkle.
