Title of Bulletin Board: Fitness Components

Suggested Grade Level: k-3

Materials: paper for background, lettering, pictures the students bring in, glue sticks

Description:

I am introducing the components of fitness with my 3rd grade PE students. Each month we focus on a different health-related fitness component. We are covering Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, Body Composition and Muscular Fitness (to account for muscular strength and muscular endurance). To get the kids involved, I have them bring in pictures of the component of the month to display on the bulletin board. The pictures can be from newspapers or magazines, the internet, drawn or a picture of themselves. Each time a picture is brought in, we discuss the picture and decide where on the bulletin board it should go. Currently the students are to bring in info regarding muscular fitness.
