Description:

This bulletin board is great for the holiday season because it is a time when food is a big focus. I used the My Plate materials to teach the students about the food groups, moderation, and proportionality. I took the My Plate tips for each food group and paired them with a traditional Thanksgiving food. The signs are:
Focus On Fruits (Cranberry sauce)
Vary Your Veggies (Sweet potato)
Make At Least Half Your Grains Whole (Stuffing)
Go Lean With Protein (Turkey)
Get Your Calcium Rich Foods (Milk)
Moderation (what foods to limit)
Proportionality (serving sizes and measuring cups)
