Title of Bulletin Board: Steps To A Healthier You (Using Pedometers)

Description:

This board was created during our first fitness unit, where the students were first introduced to wearing pedometers. Pedometers were a new piece of equipment, so the goal of this bulletin board was to teach students that overall fitness includes eating a healthy balanced diet (using an elementary version of the food guide pyramid), taking part in everyday activities to get their heart rate in the workout zone (using the activity guide pyramid), as well as getting an average of 10,000 steps a day (using their pedometer.

Additional Information:

Pedometers have been a great motivator in all of our PE activities, as well as the students' every day activities. Students strive to reach over 10,000 steps a day. This board helped to establish the school PE motto of "Get Out, Get Active!"
