Title of Bulletin Board: Jump Rope for Heart

Materials: Construction paper hearts, Pictures of students in letter shapes H-E-A-R-T

Description:

All students were given a construction paper heart and were told a story of a student in our school who had open heart surgery when he was younger. They were told to write a name, or their relationship to that person (grandpa, aunt, friend, etc.) of someone they were jump-roping for during our jump rope and fitness unit. We then thought of these special people with special hearts during our Jump Rope for Heart event. The hearts were put in an envelope on my board as students brought them in. The middle of the board is from the students who spelled out "HEART" with their bodies during our body awareness unit.
