Title of Bulletin Board: PE Give It Your Whole Heart

Category: About the Body

Suggested Grade Level: 3-5

Materials: Bulletin Board paper, Letter cut outs, drawing(s) of the blood flow through the heart and body

Description:

This board was created to encourage students to give it their very best in every activity, so that their heart gets a great workout. We were studying the blood flow pattern through the heart and the body at this time, therefore the board also reinforced what the students learned each day.

Additional Information:

The 5th and 6th graders use the same heart drawing, with the 6th graders labeling 12 parts of the heart, and the 5th graders labeling 9. The 4th graders use a simplified drawing of the heart, and labeled 6 parts of the heart. The students also learn the difference between red and blue blood in the body. There are two different drawing of the body with the red and blue blood patterns running through the body. This helps students understand just how complex the circulatory system is.
