Title of Bulletin Board: 5 a Day The Tasty Way

Materials: Colored material from craft store (red, blue, orange, green), border, black paper, pictures of fruits and vegetables representing the different colors of fruits and vegetables

Description:

The material pieces are layered and puffed out to form a 3-D rainbow of fruits and vegetables. The black paper is used at the bottom to create a pot of gold. I also stuffed crumpled yellow pieces of packaging paper to create "gold"
Pictures of the different fruits and vegetables that are various colors of the rainbow are taped onto the corresponding rainbow stripes.
"5 a day the tasty way" is a Healthy Kids Challenge Logo that our school system uses.
This board is in the cafeteria and is used to encourage kids to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, that vary in color, to provide a variety of nutritional needs.

Additional Information:

After I created this bulletin board, it was featured in the national newsletter sent out for the Healthy Kids Challenge campaign.

After submitting, I decided that next time I would place a sun at the top of the rainbow.
