Title of Bulletin Board: Soccer Acrostic Poems

Materials: white, green, blue, yellow butcher paper, a drawn soccer ball, A writing page that has a large square drawn on top for the students to draw a picture

Description:

Students incorporated poems with soccer. We explained what an acrostic poem was and had the students write one about themselves and soccer. The students wrote their names vertically down the paper and then added the adjective. Then they drew a picture of themselves playing soccer. For example:
Wonderful
Energetic
Never quits
Dedicated
Youthful
I hung blue paper for the background, white clouds, green grass, and a yellow sun. I wrote Ms. Halford's and Ms. Yager's Soccer Acrostic Poems on the sun. The students colored the drawn soccer balls and put their names on them. We hung the poems with their soccer ball on the corner of their poem.
