Title of Bulletin Board: Waverly Wacky Winter Olympics

Description:

During the 2010 winter olympics, we decided to "use our imagination," to provide our students with a healthy sense of competition. We broke our students up into 5 groups and gave them each a country to represent. (USA Canada France Italy Japan) Each group had a flag to carry from station to station. We had different events for our students. Skeleton/Luge (Scooters) Hockey (pillow polo sticks and goals) Figure Skating ( had students "skate" around with PE scarves on their feet) Biathlon ( Scarves as "skis" and pillow polo sticks, and Bean bag target "archery") Curling (students slid bean bags across the gym into a "Curling target" on the ground with Floor tape. The bulletin board was our advertisement to get the classroom teachers as well as the students motivated and excited. Students learned about the events as well as about different countries all while having fun.
