Description:

At the beginning of the week I put up a new word of the week, usually related to something we will be doing in class that week. We briefly discuss with the students what the word is and how to spell it. During the course of the week I catch students in random places in the school and ask them if they know the word of the week, can spell it, or us it in a sentence. It's helps work on letters and sounds helping it be a cross curricular lesson. Boards of different sports themes can also be created.
